Save the Date: 2025 AIC Leadership Conference and Annual Meeting

One of the annual highlights for our organization is gathering in person at the ACCE Midyear Conference. This year’s conference will take place from Thursday, February 20, to Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Omni Hotel Las Colinas in Irving, Texas.

AIC will be actively involved in the conference, including hosting a dedicated AIC Leadership Conference and Annual Meeting on Thursday, February 20 and Friday, Feb. 21. Thank you to the Bert S. Turner Department of Construction Management at Louisiana State University (LSU) for sponsoring this gathering.

The AIC conference will include high-level organizational leaders, Board members, sponsors, and members. For AIC members, we encourage you to make it a priority to attend and contribute to a healthy representation of our organization.

  • Extra Incentive: AIC members can earn 6 CPD credits by attending the event!

You are invited to register in advance for the conference and book your hotel room to save your spot. Registration is currently available through the ACCE website.

AIC Leadership Conference and Annual Meeting Agenda

Take note of our scheduled involvement in the conference:

  • Feb. 20: AIC will participate in the full day of the Construction Industry Forum.
    • Lunch and dinner will be covered in the registration fee.
  • Feb. 21: AIC will host a dedicated meeting during the ACCE breakfast.
    • Awards and nominations will take place during this breakfast.
    • Current AIC president, Gregg Bradshaw, will update industry partners about AIC during this breakfast.

Our primary gathering will occur during the ACCE Industry Event on Friday morning, Feb. 21. During the scheduled breakfast with ACCE industry members, we will gather as a membership body and have dedicated time to speak to their audience.

This is a valuable opportunity to discuss the role of AIC in advancing the construction industry. And, it will be the primary vehicle to promote our organization and encourage new involvement from non-AIC members. Be sure to attend to make a strong impression!

Additional Event Participation – the Construction Industry Forum

We also want to highlight the value of attending the first annual Construction Industry Forum on Thursday, Feb. 20, during the ACCE conference. The full slate of informative sessions will include keynote speaker sessions and several workshops covering the latest construction industry developments and innovations.

Keynote speakers KP Reddy and Ricardo Kahn will share their expertise and innovative approaches to advancing the AEC industry:

  • KP Reddy, Founder and CEO of Shadow Ventures, is a leader in construction technology with expertise in AI, robotics, and cloud computing. Known for his book “BIM for Building Owners and Developers” and appearances at major events like Autodesk University and SXSW, KP brings invaluable insights.
  • Ricardo Kahn, Director of MEGA Projects at VIATechnik, focuses on frontline worker safety and innovation. His journey from pipefitter foreman to industry leader reflects his passion for smarter, safer work practices and transformative solutions.

The event will also include engaging sessions on technology, workforce training, and education innovations. The highlights of what you can expect include:

  • Technology: Industry Expectations from Education: Gain insights from Alex Belkofer (McCarthy) and Eric Whobrey (ARCO) on how AI and automation are reshaping workforce skills.
  • CWE and PDC Industry Topics: Learn about the latest ACCE accreditation efforts to standardize workforce development and enhance career opportunities.
  • Teaching Learning Practitioner Certification Workshops: Hear about portable faculty development programs for academic and adjunct educators.
  • Best Practices Internships: Unpack case studies from Texas A&M and LSU on effective internship programs that bridge academic theory with hands-on industry experience.

Collaboration between educational institutions and industry will also be a central focus. A session led by Melanie Myers will showcase how Eastern Michigan University leverages support from its Industry Advisory Board (IAB) and CM Alumni Chapter to enhance teaching, mentoring, internships, and scholarships. Attendees will gain actionable strategies to strengthen partnerships between academia and industry to address emerging workforce needs.

These sessions – combined with the focus on technology and workforce training – will offer valuable insights for addressing challenges and driving growth in the AEC sector.
