Q3-2025 Recap: A Summer to Remember with New Achievements and Partnerships

Summer is typically a slower period on the annual calendar. However, our organization maintained a strong pace by making meaningful progress across our educational initiatives, certification programs, and global outreach efforts.

Let’s take a look at the updates that made Q3-2025 a standout quarter for American Institute of Constructors (AIC) members, our partners, and future professionals.

How We Supported Education, Certifications, and Global Growth

As we moved through the quarter, AIC advanced our mission on multiple fronts – from strengthening university partnerships to celebrating greater exam success to expanding our reach beyond U.S. borders. Here’s a look at the key milestones this quarter.

Stronger Academic Connections: CAC Testing Flexibility and University Highlights

Our educational commitment remained front and center this quarter with a focus on making our Constructor Associate Constructor (CAC) Level I exam more accessible and integrated into university programs.

Recognizing that each academic institution has unique needs, we officially expanded testing options – allowing for either online proctoring or on-site administration of the CAC exam. This flexibility is already creating momentum across our university partners, including the following:

Discussions are underway to bring other top-tier construction programs into the fold, helping students connect academic learning with professional benchmarks from day one. These efforts mark a shift in emphasis from simply providing a member benefit to creating strategic educational partnerships that prepare students to lead with professionalism.

CPC Exam Results Show Dramatic Improvement

During the summer, we opened a special testing window for our Certified Professional Constructor (CPC) Level II exam. We are proud to report a 77% passing rate, which was up 20% from previous CPC testing levels.

We believe these improvements contributed to greater results:

  • A newly revised study guide aligned more closely with exam content areas and real-world construction challenges.
  • We strove for greater clarity in the questions and a more positive exam experience based on direct feedback from previous candidates.

This isn’t just a win for the individuals who passed. It’s a signal to the entire industry that our ongoing improvements to the certification process are working to ensure that each CPC has the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to carry out critical construction works.

The CPC credential continues to represent not only industry experience, but also verified professionalism and a commitment to high standards.

Event Updates: New Developments From In-Person Meetings

AIC was well represented at the 2025 ACCE Annual Conference this past July in Nashville, where we held a special AIC membership meeting. This conference served as a central gathering for AIC members to strengthen community and collaborate on shared goals.

Additionally, during the quarter, we hosted a dinner meeting with representatives from AIC leadership and the university exam committee to explore ways to improve our professional certifications to best serve students and professionals.

These in-person conversations continued to shape the future of our partnerships with universities and organizations. The sessions helped us identify a unified approach to validating whether constructors possess the necessary skills and understanding to thrive in the industry.

Global Outlook: Expanding into Mexico

Q3 also marked an exciting step toward international expansion. AIC is actively collaborating with the Chihuahua Cluster in Mexico, a regional group of academic and construction partners eager to elevate construction standards and professionalism in line with U.S. best practices.

To support our partners in Mexico, discussions are underway to translate our exams into Spanish, making certification more accessible to Spanish-speaking professionals.

This effort aligns with developments in the U.S. construction industry. Companies have reached out to AIC expressing interest in providing their employees with Spanish-language exams to help professionals pass the exams in their native language.

Whether professionals take the exam in the U.S. or Mexico, the message is clear: professional standards transcend language. AIC is proud to be part of a growing international movement to professionalize the construction workforce.

Looking Ahead to the Conclusion of 2025

We are eager to see how the seeds planted in the summer impact the Fall 2025 AIC exam testing window. We anticipate even greater results for both our CAC and CPC professional certification exams.

Throughout the final quarter of the year, we’ll continue building on the progress we made over the summer by expanding domestic and international partnerships, improving exam resources, and pushing forward with new membership initiatives.

Thank you for being part of the AIC community. Let’s continue to accelerate constructor excellence together.
