Recap of AIC news and updates for First Quarter 2025

Q1-2025 Recap: The Latest Initiatives to Support AIC Members

The American Institute of Constructors (AIC) hit the ground running in 2025, making significant strides in operations, professional certifications, and community engagement in the first quarter of the year.

With a new management team in place and exciting updates across various functions, we are focused on growth, modernization, and improving experiences for our members. Let’s break down the key highlights from the first quarter.

A Transition to New Leadership and a Fresh Perspective

One of the most notable updates this quarter was the transition to new management under Egaso, LLC, led by the newly appointed Executive Director and Certification Manager, Canda Mueller, Ph.D.

Bringing a unique background as a psychometrician and cattle rancher, Canda has a deep connection to our organization. She has been involved with the Constructor Certification Commission for several years to support the advancement of our CAC Level I and CPC Level II exams to best serve students and professionals who sit for our professional certifications.

With this transition comes fresh eyes on the organization’s operations and an eagerness to ask questions, reassess processes, and implement changes that reflect member needs. Since stepping into her role on January 1st, Canda has focused on driving meaningful updates across AIC initiatives.

Reflecting on her new position in AIC, Canda shared, “Time. You can’t bend it, so you might as well make the most of it. And we have!”

A New Membership Portal for Seamless Navigation

The launch of the MembershipWorks portal marks a significant improvement in how members interact with AIC. This new portal simplifies navigation, making it easier for members to pay their dues and certification fees.

However, as with any system change, data quality has been a key focus. Members are encouraged to ensure their information is correctly updated in the portal. If you didn’t receive notifications about this change, your contact details may need revision.

With this portal, our services will be more accessible and streamlined for members, which is a step forward in enhancing member engagement.

Advancements in Certification Exams

Another key development in the first quarter was to change to the administration of the CAC and CPC exams. To accommodate diverse schedules and accessibility needs, AIC now offers remote proctoring for its exams. This move allows candidates greater flexibility in deciding when and where to take their exams, making certification more reachable for busy professionals.

The first exam window of 2025, which we designated for the CAC exam, closed on April 16th. The next CPC exam window will now be scheduled for August.

For constructors who are interested and eligible for the CPC exam, we encourage you to take advantage of the enhancements we have planned. Stay tuned for further updates on the process as we continue to investigate additional opportunities to update our exams.

Volunteers and Membership Engagement

AIC thrives on the dedication and expertise of our members. This quarter, the organization is renewing its call for members to volunteer their time and talents. Whether it’s committee work or helping shape the next generation of certified constructors, AIC is looking for professionals committed to making a difference.

Canda encourages members to step forward, saying, “The work is hard. That is true. But, it builds connections that you can’t get otherwise.” This is a call to action for those who want to leave a legacy within the construction industry while creating meaningful professional connections.

Looking Ahead to an Exciting 2025

With major strides taken in just three months, AIC is setting the tone for an impactful and forward-thinking 2025. From the improved membership experience in the new portal to advancements in certification processes and a renewed focus on volunteer engagement, there’s no shortage of ways for members to get involved and make a difference.

Have thoughts or ideas? Interested in volunteering? Canda and the AIC team want to hear from you! Together, we can ensure the AIC remains a vital resource in the construction industry, setting standards of excellence for years to come.

Stay connected, stay involved, and let’s continue building something extraordinary – with AIC leading the charge.
